On 15 May 2026, Strategy International (SI), in partnership with the MAAN Institute and Middle East 24, hosted a high-level international webinar examining Somaliland’s growing geopolitical importance in the Horn of Africa. Bringing together diplomats, academics, policy experts, and security analysts, the discussion focused on Somaliland’s strategic location, political stability, governance record, and the expanding role of Berbera Port as a regional trade and logistics hub. Participants explored emerging cooperation between the Horn of Africa, the Gulf, and the Eastern Mediterranean, highlighting opportunities in trade, energy, security, and connectivity. The event emphasised Somaliland’s increasing regional significance and the value of continued international dialogue and engagement.
