On this episode we welcome Dr. Eleni Gavriil, an expert in international investment agreements, who breaks down in simple terms what it means to engage in foreign investments, the agreements and treaties that exist, the different associated risks and the various standards of protection. Dr Eleni Gavriil is a Lecturer in International Economic Law and Human Rights at the Department of History, Politics and International Studies of the Neapolis University Pafos.
She holds a Ph.D. from the European Law and Governance School of the European Public Law Organization. The title of her thesis is the “Interplay between International Investment Law and Human Rights”. She obtained her LL.B. from the School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and her LL.M. in International and European Business Law from Neapolis University Paphos. She is an Attorney-at-Law with the Athens Bar Association. Her research interests include the fields of International Economic Law and European Law with an emphasis on international investment agreements, the promotion and protection of foreign investments and the protection of human rights.
