Professor Manuel Muñiz is a Professor of Practice of International Relations. In the current web-series episode, we hold a particular discussion on international affairs. In our episode we analyze and discuss, in a comprehensive manner, the current state of global and transatlantic affairs. Bio:

Manuel Muñiz is the Provost of IE University in Madrid and a Professor of Practice of International Relations, with a range of experience in academia. He is also the Dean of IE School of Politics, Economics & Global Affairs, responsible for research and teaching in public policy and global affairs. His academic work has focused on the fields of innovation and disruption, political economy, and regional and global governance.
From January of 2020 to July of 2021, Muñiz served as State Secretary at the Spanish Foreign Ministry. In this role, he was responsible for leading the ministry’s Strategy and Foresight Unit, the Economic Diplomacy Team, and the Communications Department, including the Office for Diplomatic Information. He coordinated Spain’s 2021–2024 Foreign Policy Strategy, and led the work on the National Strategy on Technology and Global Order. During this time, he coordinated Spain’s OECD Ministerial Presidency of 2020 and was a member of the Prime Minister’s COVID-19 task force.
He has received an array of awards and recognitions, including the Trilateral Commission’s David Rockefeller Fellowship, the Körber Foundation’s 2017 Munich Young Leader Fellowship, the Atlantic Council’s Millennium Fellowship, and the Eisenhower Fellowship. In 2016, Esglobal named him one of the 25 intellectuals having the most significant impact on our thinking about Iberoamerica. Previous positions, among others, include Founder and Director, IE Center for the Governance of Change, 2017 – 2020, Rafael del Pino Professor of Practice of Global Transformation, Fundación Rafael del Pino, 2014 – 2020, Senior Associate, Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, 2017 – 2020, Director of the Program on Transatlantic Relations, Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, 2015 – 2017. Professor Muñiz, holds a DPhil (PhD) in International Relations, University of Oxford, UK, 2017, a Master in Public Administration, Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, USA, 2011, MSc in Financial Markets, IEB, Spain, 2009 and a JD (Law), Complutense University of Madrid, Spain, 2007.
