On our next web series episode of “Prime Analysis,” we welcome Professor Stephanie Laulhe Shaelou. Stephanie is a Professor of European Law and Reform Professor and head of the School of Law, UCLan, Cyprus, School of Law and Policing. In this web series, we discuss the experiences of a well-versed professional with a record of awards for her work based on the rule of law and reform, based on and about European institutions and society. We discuss her personality, professional life, challenges, and successes. We speak about the European Institutions—the importance of society, the rule of law, and constant reforms. We also discuss European electoral approaches for 2024 and the emerging peripheral challenges in Europe from its eastern to south and southeastern flank. Among others, we discuss the values of the European Union.

Prime Analysis is a public discourse, scientific, and professional web series. Prime analysis discusses issues of national and international affairs and concerns. From leadership and decision-making to political affairs and technology, showcasing regional and international politics, global issues, and cultural and historical affairs. Prime Analysis examines and discusses various interdisciplinary market economic, sociological, technological, and political issues that hold a global impact, considering political and economic affairs, international trade, technology, and R&D, among others.

Bio:

Prof. Stéphanie Laulhé Shaelou has been researching, transmitting knowledge, and running externally funded projects in the field of EU Law at several universities throughout Europe, including Cyprus and the UK, for 20 years. She is currently a Professor of European Law and Reform and Head of the School of Law of the University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus), as well as the University Chair for Research and Innovation. In February 2021 she received from the European Parliament the European Citizen 2020 Prize on behalf of the non-profit organisation which she founded in 2017, ICLAIM, for its Social Mediation in Practice project. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She supervises LLM dissertations, PhDs and/or post-docs in fields related to her own research including on the EU financial crisis, migration crisis, EU Citizenship, Rule of Law, socio-economic rights in times of crisis, Brexit, effective judicial protection, privacy, AI technologies and other current issues in EU law.
