On our next web series episode of “Prime Analysis,” we welcome Mr. George Karoullas, Deputy President of the Defense Committee of the Cyprus Parliament. Mr. Karoullas is a Vice President of the DISY Party of Cyprus.

Bio:
Mr. George Karoullas is an elected representative of Famagusta constituency under the banner of DISY since 2016. He has previously served as Deputy Chairperson of the House Standing Committee on Educational Affairs and Culture. Mr. Karoullas currently serves as: – Deputy Chairperson of the House Standing Committee on Defense Affairs and of the House Standing Committee on Institutions, Merit and the Commissioner for Administration (Ombudsman). – Member of the House Standing Committee on Educational Affairs and Culture and of the House Standing Committee on Refugees-Enclaved-Missing-Adversely Affected Persons. – Member of the delegation of the House to the Interparliamentary Conference for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) for the first two and a half years of the parliamentary term. Mr. Karoulas has completed the following studies: Education-Primary School Teaching (Cyprus Pedagogical Academy), Diploma of Further Education (Cyprus Pedagogical Institute), Education-Primary School Teaching (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), BA and MA in Geography (Ohio University, United States of America) and doctoral studies in Geography Education (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece). By profession, he is a Geographer. Mr. Karoullas speaks English.

– Famagusta District Deputy Secretary (1999-2003) and Secretary (2003-2007) of the Organisation of Young Scientists (ONE) of DISY.
– DISY Famagusta District Secretary of Local Government (2007-2012).
– DISY Famagusta District Organisational Secretary (2012-2013).
– DISY Famagusta District Secretary since 2013.- Defence Coordinator of DISY.
