Yiota Nicolaidou is a holistic security strategist renowned for solving complex, high-stakes security challenges. She holds a degree in Computer Engineering and a master’s degree in Advanced Microelectronic Systems Engineering, with a focus on Fault and Threat Tolerance, Hardware Security, and Usable Security. Her methodologies uniquely integrate human cognition, including Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and principles of Psychological Operations (PSYOPs), offering innovative approaches to countering modern threats.

In one of her most recent endeavours, Yiota was entrusted with addressing a problematic security element in a European project. Within a year, she successfully elevated its security maturity to the required level—a milestone praised by the international organization involved.

Yiota has been recognized by a senior NATO official as an authority on the evolving "Threat Landscape" across the EU and beyond, and as one of the world’s foremost experts in cybersecurity and the threats posed by cyberspace—threats that increasingly impact free societies and critical systems globally.

By combining technical expertise, high-level strategic insight, and unconventional yet highly effective solutions, Yiota incorporates the element of surprise—a crucial tactic for countering state-sponsored attackers who exploit predictable playbooks.

Yiota’s contributions extend beyond strategy development. She is a keynote speaker at global conferences and a guest writer for international security magazines. In 2023, she moderated the ITU Interregional CyberDrill session, 'Best Practices for Critical Information Infrastructure Protection,' which focused on AI-driven threats to safety-critical infrastructure and featured real-case attack scenarios. Through clear and impactful narratives, Yiota inspires proactive security measures and drives global conversations on critical infrastructure protection and innovation to address emerging security challenges.
