“Global Views” Series 1: Strategy Policy Challenges in the Aftermath of the UN General Assembly

Global, Strategic and Legal Perspectives on Peace, Security, Energy and Law

This is a new Series proposed by the School of Law, in collaboration with Strategy International, for the academic year 2018-19. The Series aims at introducing students and other interested observers to the complexities of international politics and geo-strategy. A number of events will unfold in this Series, for which attendees will be able to claim a certificate of attendance provided they attend 4 such events.

About the speaker

Marios EfthymiopoulosProf. Dr. Marios Panagiotis Efthymiopoulos is an internationally distinguished Expert and Scholar in the fields of Geostrategy, Security and International law with a specialisation on Transatlantic issues. He is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the School of Law of UCLan Cyprus. He is the CEO of Strategy International and Senior Consultant at DVK Consultants. He has been the founding Dean of the College of Security and Global Studies at the American University in the Emirates (UAE). He has been a distinguished senior fellow at reputable international Universities and Institutions, with years of experience of work in the USA and the UAE. Among others: Columbia’s Harriman Institute, the Center for Transatlantic relations, John Hopkins’ SAIS, George Washington European Center of Excellence, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and as Visiting Professor at the University of Cyprus. Following the upcoming publication of his latest co-edited Handbook of Cyber-Development, Cyber-Democracy and Cyber-Security by Springer (Oct 2018), he is working on a sole authorship book on Cyber-Security; “Falcon’s Maze on Cyber-Security the Case of the UAE” by Springer (January 2021).
