Mr. Theodoros Rakkas holds a major in Mediterranean Studies with a concentration on International Relations and Organizations from the University of the Aegean. He obtained his MA from the University of Nicosia in International Relations and European Studies where he specialized in Mid East & South East Europe affairs, with a special focus on Oil & Gas geopolitics, Islamic terrorism and Cultural Dialogue. He authored his master’s dissertation on “The USA-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations through the scope of the drop in oil prices since 2014”, a demanding subject that required a multisided and intradepartmental approach.
Furthermore, he has attended seminars and conferences regarding the timeline and characteristics of Political Islamism and Jihadi terrorism and the historical outline Mid East and Southeast Europe. He has an intermediate diploma (B1) in Modern Standard Arabic and is currently pursuing an Advanced degree in the Egyptian Spoken Dialect of Arabic. Moreover, he is an author of numerous articles and analyses regarding, Greco-Turkish relations, Byzantine history, regional conflicts and cooperation, energy policy, Islamic terrorism, and immigration.
Other current positions include. The Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy (H.I.C.D) as Liaison and head of Oriental & Byzantine studies, along with employment in the Hazardous Waste management industry, especially regarding Public Relations and cooperation with government agencies.
