Captain Savvas Papasavvas (Armd)
Savvas Papasavvas is a Cypriot military officer. He has graduated from the Hellenic Army Academy in 2005 as a Cavalry/Armor Second Lieutenant. He has graduated successfully from all the basic Armor Schools and has served in Armored and Reconnaissance Units for more than ten years. He has also been an active member of various committees making industrial and on field inspections of different types of main battle tanks. As a staff officer, he has served on the International Relations Directorate on the Republic of Cyprus National Guard General Staff whereas, among other duties, he was the point of contact with the FINABEL Committee during the state’s Presidency.
Regarding his academic education, he holds a Master of Arts (University of Nicosia) in European Studies and International Relations. He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate (Middlesex University London/UK). His research interests mainly focus on foreign policy decision-making, energy policy, game theory and the integration of multidisciplinarity in energy security crisis management. He has published articles in different journals, and has been a guest lecturer in various universities and institutions.
