Dr. Marios P. Efthymiopoulos gave a speech on “NATO's Strategic Concept in an era of financial crisis”
at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Dr. Efthymiopoulos' speech concentrated on two issues: How to develop the new Strategic Concept based on the report of the 12 members committee of experts of NATO by and after its initiation on November 2010, and how to employ NATO's new Strategic concept in regard to the global financial crisis.
On the last issue, Dr. Efthymiopoulos reffered on the financial and political aspects of the critical issues affecting NATO, namely the Credibility of the Alliance, current and future operations and challenges, issues of environmental and energy security, public diplomacy, international terrorism and international piracy, cyber-defense and intelligence sharing.
Dr. Efthymiopoulos's speech was presented by the Director of the Southeast Europe Program Dr. Christian Ostermann in the Presence of the Chairman of the Board for Southeast Europe of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Mr. John Sitilides. Amongst others, attendants were from a variety of institutes and academic institutions, governement officials, diplomatic representatives, Wilson scholars and students.
